      quite right man!
got an asus here...more or less ok,except that sometimes upon ejecting,it closes by itself...dunno if it's because of Stomp DLA...(anybody got an idea?)
had a sony dvd 16x,but ,returned it because after reading about 100 cds one after the other,i could no longer read properly
samsung sucks coz it heats too much & i got friends whose cd exploded in his samsung dvd drive
u can try the pioneer, heard that it's quite good
      regards
