      Panasonic LF-310 Region change counter

How can I sort out the region change counter so it doesn't lock the drive to one region?

      cheers

To do it without a firmware hack look at the utilities here.

Seems the only way is to buy DVD Region Free. Is this correct?

Thanks for the help so far

OK, I've downloaded and installed the trial version of DVD Region Free, but I have a problem with it. If I try to play or copy a DVD that is the wrong region, I get an error saying that the disc may be scratched or dirty. If I then disable Region Free the normal ' region change ' dialogue pops up asking me if I want to use one of my region changes. Obviously something is going wrong, I have emailed the company that sells DVD Region FRee but have had no response so far. I have a panansonic LF-310 with A126 firmware, running Win XP Pro, have a full aspi layer ( 4.6 ) and am using DVD Decrypter to rip, and Power DVD V4 to view movies.

Can anyone verify that there is no other way to sort out the region changing with this drive? According to the firmware site there is no modified firmware for this drive.

Any help would be appreciated, I don't actually own this drive yet, I'm buying it off a friend if I'm happy with it, said I'd let him know soon if I'm keeping it or not so please help me sort this out if you have any ideas. Obviously I'm not going to keep the writer if I can't sort the region lock out.

      cheers

You are correct there is no hacked firmware available.Dvd region free only works when the drive is already locked. At least that is the way I read it.

Maybe try Dvd genie from the same site??You don't have many choices.

      DVD Genie is freeware.
