      Question Sony DRU500AX and Firmware

      I just got a Sony Dru 500AX.

Since I am new to what firm ware is... what is the use of using Firmware? And seeing here what people say: what version should I use and where can Iget it?

firmware is a software for you hardware in this case your burner.
When new release of firmware come out they tend to B bug fixes and more media support updates, but not always a good idea to update just because a new verison is out.
Most times you can get them from the homepage in your case Sony...or forums like ourself. Word of warning backup your old firmware B4 hand incase the new one give's problems...
Try this site for firmware for firmware...dvd roms, burners etc

How do I backup my old firmware B4 or whats its name is? just search for it?

One more thing. If the new firmware backfires on me. do I just install the old firmware or do I have to deinstall it from somewhere?

      (GOT WINXP)

      Thanks for your answere!
