      Which DVD Writer Should I buy???

      I am looking to buy my first DVD Writer, and I am not sure which to get, I have been looking at the Pioneer DVR-A05 and the Sony DRU500A, wHich of these drives are the best, or would u recomend another drive altogether?

      Be calm the 105 is the choice of many but me Im waiting cos LiteOn DVD burner is coming in 2003!!!

      Got mine pioneer 105 today and till now all is working fine cause i was lucky and got the right media.

      The drive doesn´t like all media !!

      hmm ...that´s like VCDHELP´s compatibility list... the results differ between every user....
      e.g. somebody wrote that Princo don´t work with firmware ver. 1.00...but they work for me like a charm ... so... I think the list isn´t much help ---> everybody should do his own tests...

      I don’t know where you are located but you might check this forum posting titled “CenDyne DVD Writer $169.99 ?”. You might be able to save yourself a couple of bucks if you live near an OfficeMax.

      104 will only burn at 2x while 105 will burn at 4x.
      Depends on how much time you have got.

      some stores have DVR-105 for same price

      At many OfficeMax stores they are providing the DVR-105 at the same price ($169 after rebate). Check around. Can't beat it for the price.

      It also depends on how much money u have got ....cause 1x Media is about 1€ and below --> 2x media cost about 1,7€ and below but 4x is about 6€ (here, right now)
