Any experiences with this drive anyone ?, i currently own a a03, thinking of buying the Sony.

mmm read not so good news about this drive..
Looks like a +R/RW drive with some -R/RW support built in at the last moment.. Nero has BIG problems with this drive.
+ works well, - does not

hmm..if this is true ... the prob with Nero can´t exit for long ..cause everybody knows that there is a new Nero version every few days

btw. I would stick with the Pioneer drive...until more drives r out and prices go down ...

Hi,

I just bought the Sony DRU500A yesterday.
This far I have only tested the sony (on a DVD-R media)
using the software that came along with the burner.
That went all OK. In the next few days I will burn
some DVD using Nero.
So hold on few day. I'll let you know about the results of my test.

I purchased a sony dru-500a this weekend and it seems to burn allright for me. I burned it with HP media, apple media, and memorex and all seems to work fine, but i haven't try burning cdrs yet

I bought the Sony for 370 euros. Good price compared
to other brands if you consider the support for RW- and RW+.

I hope that the latest Nero version supports the drive properly.because although it was recognised by former versions of Nero,it wasn't fully supported...
