      dvd burner

      is there any difference between the dvd-r and dvd+r as well as dvd-rw and dvd+rw

      I'm gonna get the Ricoh MP5125A soon so can u guys please let me know this asap so that i can buy the right media for using with that burner

      rommy, 2 systems exists at the moment-> dvdburners for dvdr(w)- and dvdr(w)+ you can't exchange media and have to stick with the appropiate media.
      the - standardbrand=pioneer and
      the +standard=ricoh and is sold rebadged by HP, Sony and Philips.
      The practical most important difference between systems is dvdmedia price->roughly +media =twice the price of - equivalents

      just another quick pointer,I bought the Memorex DVD+R to find it was incompatible with the DVD-R disc's,and you will find that most
      backups are done on DVD - R,dont make the mistake I did caus I
      lost £100 on the return because it was over the 7 day limit to return the burner,so I had to pay a re-stocking fee,go for the one widely used ie Pioneer AO4 DVD-R,you'll not regret it M8.
