      decrypting newer movies

how can I backup newer movies that dvd decrypter can't copy to the hard drive? ie sony dvds. I've tried DvdFabDecrypter but that only copies in file mode and when I load in the IFO file I get this error - Run Time Error 9 Subscript out of range. Any help will be appreciated

Did you try DVDREasy 0.8.1 beta?
      Pardon me for not standing.

TRY running the ANYDVD program in the background when you decrypt the dvd

      decrypting newer movies

Thanks for the replys, I am running ver 0.8.1. I did download the trial version of AnyDvd, which is a full version for 21 days, and I installed it. It did allow DVD Decrypter to work in IFO mode, where before it would stop, but when I tried to load in the IFO file it still gave me the same message - "Run-time error 9 subscript out of range" I don't know if there are settings in both programs that need to be set differently, but that seems to be on the right track. Thanks again

Just run FixVTS on the DVD Decrypter extracted files and that should remove the error.

      still not decrypting

thanks again for the replys. I tried Roadworkers suggestion, I really thought that would work, but I still got the same error message. I even ran the files thru FixVts but it didn't help.
ChickenMan, its great to hear from you again, you gave me some help approx 2-3 years ago when I was using your movie only guide. I still use it on long movies that require a lot of compression to fit on a single layer dvd. Thats how I arrived at this problem of not being able to rip in IFO mode on newer movies. So when I found Dvdreasy I thought this would work because it didn't say you had to rip in IFO mode, just load in the movie IFO file. Anyway, have you been able to backup any dvd with the newer copy protection (sony) using Dvdreasy? Thanks for any help. BTW, your previous suggestion didn't work because DVD Decrypter locked up after a few minutes in IFO mode

      Sorry Guys...

Real work is taking my all time
I havent had much time to play around with DVDREasy regarding the new copy protections DVD's.

What I do is ALLWAYS use the last version of FABDECRYTER and choose the FULL DISC operation.

In some DVD's, for some strange reason (at least i don´t know why...) DVDREasy parse correctly the IFO from the original DVD but when DVDREasy try to parse the RIPPED IFO from the HD it crashes with runtime error 9.

I did some changes to the ifo parsing code and it seem that work. (not fully tested)

So, if you are willing to try, here is 0.8.2 version

number6, thanks for your comments. I'm still about, just drop in here from time to time to see the old family

The ultimate dvd ripper is RipIt4Me - http://www.ripit4me.org/ - but it can be a slow rip, but will rip any new DVD regardless of its copy protection.

But then maybe dvdreasy has fixed a problem
      Cheers,
