RUN TIME ERROR 5 -and then quits

      Hi,
I'm very new to this software and so far it had worked very well, until today. I've been reading the threads but didn't find a solution to my problem. I had version 0.6.3 installed. Today after hittin the 'Convert" buttom I got a
      RUN TIME ERROR 5 messagge.
      Then DVDREasy quits.

I tried to find the DVDREasy log file that is mentioned in other threads but the folder where the contents of the DVD are transfered shows empty.

So, I don't know what's wrong with this. I uninstalled & reinstalled the program (and now I have the latest version) without any success.

I noticed that my "Folders & Paths" menu is slighly different to the one shown in the HOW session of DVDReasy's site (http://pwp.netcabo.pt/dvdreasy/guide.htm):
In the path's session I don't have an option for BITRATE viewer (don't know if this makes any difference or not).

Ok, I'd appreciate any tips. Thanks so much,
      Mauricio.

      PS. my system settings are:

      AMD ATHLON 64 3000+
      1.5 GB of RAM
      Win XP PRO SP2
      video: ATI 9600XT 256MB RAM

What was your choice in conversion : "convert", "convert & create ISO", "Convert create & burn ISO" ?

Did you saw the message screen "you are about to begin the conversion process " ?

This error only happen with a specific DVD or you are seeing this error with any DVD (even with the ones you sucessufly converted before) ?

DVDREasy.log is located in your working directory

The image in DVDREasy site is from a previous version. I must update as soon I have time . . .

I really need a bit more info to figure out what is going on !

      Hi,
Thanks so much for your quick reply.

After your email I discovered that this was happening with a single dvd only. Every other DVD seemed to work just fine.

With the problematic DVD I was trying to "Convert & Create ISO". After selecting that option I would get a message saying the convertion was about to start and then, the Run Time Error message. After pressing OK the program would just quit. Nothing was created in the working directory, so I have no Log files to show you...

But it's ok, i think. With DVD decrypter I managed to copy only the part of the movie I needed. Don't ask me how because I don't even know how I got onto the menu that allowed me to do that.

      This is my question though:
DVD decrypter generated one folder: Video_TS
      which contains these files:
      VTS_01 -Chapter Information-CCE.txt
      VTS_01 -Chapter Information -Scenarist.txt
      VTS_01 -Chapter Information-IfoEdit.txt
VTS_01_1.VBO {which I can play, watch, and hear on Real Player and has the full length of the video cotents I need}.

So can with this files burn a functional DVD?
Do I need any extra material?

      I'd appreciate any advice.

      Thanks so much,

      Mauricio.

I'm experiencing the same runtime error 5 message w/ latest build of DVDRE.
I have it set to convert & create ISO. This same error message has come up for every disc I try ( I recently installed this on a second machine to use as a conversion mule when needed)

      Hi cbc,

      This is very strange...

Could you please try the same convertion using DVDREasy 0.6.5 ?

Maybe something is wrong with 2 audio/subtitles implementation, although I donīt have any other complains/reports.

    6. #6
Will do. Strangely it works fine on my main box. Will post back w/ results using earlier build

    7. #7
Ok, could not find a full copy of 6.5 (I only have the update file), so I re-tried the disc in latest build again, only this time selected only one audio track (5.1 DTS) . Worked fine this time. So it must be something causing an issue when trying to accomodate 2 audio tracks.

      thanks,

I will check this out !

Seems like problem has returned. Selected one audio track & one subtitle track. Decrypter seems to have compleated the rip, then as CCE starts up, runtime error occurs, and all I can do is close the program.

      Exclamation DVDREasy BUG

      HI,

I havenīt had much time for DVDREasy as i would like, but...

I found the bug about audio issue. This mainly happens when you choose 2 audio tracks but can also happen with only one audio.

A new release will be available in the next couple of days that will correct this and with some other improvements.

      Cheers
