Angry Runtime error 5 from latest version

      Hi there

Haven't used DVDReasy for a while, but had a project that I needed to do so I fired it up as usual, aimed it at the main .IFO file and hit start, only to receive
"runtime error 5, invalid procedure call or argument". When I click the OK button DVDRE shuts down. Uninstalled it & re-did from scratch - same prob. The only thing I can think of that I've changed semei-recently was the SP1 update for .Net

      XPPro/SP2
      2.8 P4E
      1 GB Ram

      Any ideas?

Post your dvdreasy.log (exists in DVDREasy working directory)

there isn't one. I have tried backing up my DVD two ways, ripping disc to the HDD via Decrypter first, and also trying directly from the disc thru AnyDVD 5.2.4.2

Both methods end in same error, both are leaving no .log file behind in working folder.

You can't use files that are already on your harddisc......just put the dvd in your reader and let DVDREasy do all the work.....the ripping procedure is an automated process, done by DvdDecrypter, but started by DVDREasy..
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.....

hmm..interesting. It appears I've been selecting the wrong .IFO file to load into DVDRE. Finally found one that works VTS_03.IFO, & no error msg now.

      Per the guide:
"1. Choose the IFO file that belongs to the main movie"
How do you know which one is the right one to select?
      VIDEO_TS.IFO
      VTS_01_0.IFO
      VTS_02_0.IFO
      etc.

Turns out VTS_03_0.IFO was the one that I needed.

I will post a new version today that automaticly selects the IFO of the main movie

Check the forum in a couple of minutes...

      Cheers

      thanks dvdrEZ
I've another q about discs that have multiple a/r s on them, for instance my copy of "Marathon Man" has .IFOs for both 4:3 & 16:9. If I wanted just the 16:9
version to back up, will DVDRE be able to determine & show me the choices to select this?

hmm..looks like your new version already answers my question!
      Off to go test!
