It seems that CCE is aborting the encoding process with the option to save it somewhere,DvdrEasy doesn't do that....try 0.37b2 and disable as much services from your task manager as you can before running DVDREasy....

I'm running DVDREasy 036 with CCE 2.5.
DVDREasy stops with a message whilst CCE is running of:
"save changes to 'noname'?"
with options of Yes/No/cancel.
Does any one know what's wrong?

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.....
I've upgraded to 0.37b2 and ensured that no other processes are running - but I still get the same message:
"save changes to 'noname'?"
this is odd !
Are you sure that CCE version is 2.50.01.00 ?
Did you installed AviSynth 2.5 ? if not, go to c:\program files\dvdreasy\avisynth and run avisynth252.exe
Please post your dvdreasy.log (the file is in dvdreasy working directory)
I've posted you the log.
The version of CCE is correct and Avisynth was already installed.
Hi,
From your log file that you send me by e-mail, I detect the following :
You have installed DVDDECRYPTER, CCE, AVISYNTH, BITRATEVIEWER and DVDREASY on the same directory (from your log file : C:\Program Files\DVD Decrypter)
You must install them in DIFERENT directories.
Ex:
Bitrate viewer : c:\program files\bitrateview
Cinema Craft Encoder : c:\program files\CCE
DVD Decrypter : c:\program files\dvddecrypter
AVISYNTH : c:\program files\AviSynth 2.5
DVDREASY : c:\program files\dvdreasy
Then, you must choose another directory for the working process, for instance c:\dvdreasywork or, has you have c:\dvdreasy
So, my advice is uninstall all the products mention above and reinstall them as specified, or at least in different directories.
Then, try to do a conversion again
Cheers
Thanks - that's done the trick !! I uninstalled the software and re-intalled in separate folders - as advised. DVDREasy ran and created an ISO successfully.
Only one issue - CCE took 5 hrs 40 mins !!!!
I know LOTR is a long movie and requires a lot of compression but I have a pretty fast machine, lots of disk space, no other tasks running, etc. Is the trialware version of CCE particularly slow?
By way of comparison, I ran the same movie through DVD Shrink 3.2 (with 'deep analysis before copy' set) - it took 1 hr 26 mins to re-encode and create an ISO.
I haven't yet compared the quality of Original DVD vs. DVDREasy version vs. DVDShrink version, however !!!
Glad you can solve your problem !
DVD Shrink does TRANSCODING while DVDREasy does re-encoding.
What was the % of compression that SHRINK did ?
Do it and see the difference . . .I haven't yet compared the quality of Original DVD vs. DVDREasy version vs. DVDShrink version, however !!!
The DVDShrink compression of LOTR III was 55%. I've actually backed up the LOTR trilogy to DVD9's - but trying to squeeze them onto DVD5's is good for test purposes !!
Thanks for making the point about transcoding and encoding - I did some research and now understand the difference between the two.
Has the trialware version of CCE been slugged - speedwise?
