Question Most recomended DVD burner for large archives?

What DVD burner does everyone use these days for archiving files?

I have about 7,000 karaoke songs/cdgs on 40 CD-ROMs and would like to archive these to DVD to save space.

Are there any good websites on where the DVD spec is at now days?

Are burners capable of double side/double density - for 18 GIG as originally stated when DVDs first came about?

Thanks for any info on this subject,
      Jon

Opps, didn't scroll down to see if there was a DVD Hardware section. Sorry for posting in wrong forum.

Thanks for your info roadworker. A 30gig DVD would be a nice storage medium
