I have a pioneer 104 brand new just out the box, I installed primo dvd 2 and tried to backup a ps2 game, everything looked like it went ok but when I tried it in the ps2 using proper boot sequence it wouldn't play at all. So I tried nero but still the same. The thing I find strange is I can't even read it int the pc. ?
Hope someone can help.
Cheers
wild
ps I'm using vivistar dvdr's
Hello,
does your PS2 have a MOD-Chip installed ?
weiter so ...
yes modchip installed no problem booting dvdr's just the ones i've backed up my self
r u copying a DVD game or a normal CD?
john
i'm trying to copy a dvd game.
ok so you can definately play other copied dvd's, just having trouble with the ones you are copying yourself?
john
when you copy using neri, do you use copy dvd option and not compile a new dvd option.
i have save writer as you and also a chipped ps2 (messiah). Only had 1 problem in the past and that was with the type of dvdr i was copying to. I use bulkpaq ones now and have never had a problem.
john
what make are they I think that could be my problem.
they are totally unbranded, just plain silver. I got 100 when i ordered my 104, have also had problems playing them in my dvd player as well.
the bulkpaq ones i get at 43p each are great never had any probs with them.
i 2 have a ao4 and i have backed up about 3 dvd games on branded datasafe generation 3 and none work i have a ps2 with an ar2 on it the console is chipped but no games work but primo will let me backup ripped ps2 games on cdrand they work any ideas as i fed up of costeing dvds
from my experience i use bulkpaq dvdr discs and use nero to copy the dvd ps2 disks. Only game i have had a problem is is MGS2 UK version which for some reason connot be copied dont ask me why, but the american version i have a copy for and can copy. Only advice i can give is use nero, make sure you dont do anything else on the pc while the disks are copying, this can cause problems when writing and will just give you som expensive coasters.
john
Hi mrmassive can you see the files on the recorded dvd in your dvd recorder I can't see any on mine it just hangs.
Hey guys
@johnna i hate to be the bearer of BAD new but bulkpaqe are CRAP with a capital "C" the new gen 3 datasafeand princo do not work either.I have a PS2 with a messiah chip in it i also have a Pioneer 104 ..... thus far i have tried VOB did not work very well,Nero 5.5.9.0 read errors left right and centre ... the best i have found are Primo DVD v2/RecordNow Max v4.0 and Discjuggler v 4.01.980 Pro 2 they ALL work very very well copying PS2 games with good DVD-r media. As far as media go Verbs are very good but expensive @ £4 a shot but i have tried using White Label DVD-r Gold Edition ( funny since they have a green top) £35 for 25 @ the computer fair has to be a bargain. Thus far i have used 20 and had no coasters ALL have worked as good as the originals evem MGS2 the UK version as this is copiable i should know i have made 4 working copies to date off my original.Remember to read to you Hard Disc first the Burn @ 1x and all should be well and that the PS2 is fussy when it comes to CDr media and even fussier when it comes to DVD-r ...... Hope this helps
Ken
Ps i have attached a scan of the new White Label DVD-r`s keep an eye out for them
Pps use datasafe CDr media for Ripped games they are quality and cheap
well i guess its like most things what works good on one doesnt work good on the next. Just ordered myself another 100 bulkpaq ones. I know cheap isnt always best but it this case for me and my mates who also have dvd writers the bulkpaq seems to be the best. Only thing i would suggest to anyone is to buy a couple of recommended ones and c how they work.
