    1. can tmpgenc do this?

i was wondering, in the tmpgenc wizard format, if i wanna burn a dvd that's bigger than 4.7GB, can i use the wizard option to shrink it down?

like here's the process... rip the files onto HD with smart ripper, then use DVD2AVI to get the wav file and stuff, and then use that with tmpgenc to shrink down the movie...is that possible?

Yup, it's possible, but then you have to remux it into the vobs again...

      There you have 2 choices:
      1) Use IfoEdit.. but you can get into sync problems, as IfoEdit is not supporting tmpEnc (i know, there is an option for tmpenc, but it's for use at your own risk)
      2) use an authoring program to create the vobs again

      2) is what most people do

You can also use rempeg, but it's only good for not less that 85% of the avg.

You also have to calculate how much you are going to shrink the movie.. use a calculator.. otherwise there is a chance that after 12 hours of encoding... it still doesn't fit
