Problem in dvd

I installed a dvd player on a old pc and when i playback the bs player only play the audio and not the video, anybody with the same problem?

as per poacher .... and try installing a good player such as POWER DVD or freeware player VIDEOLAN from here

IT needs codecīs when it is a dvd and not a xvid or divx?

Is it a real pressed or burn Video DVD and not a Data DVD containing videos (AVI,MPG)?

usally the DVD codec (MPEG2 decoder) comes installed with a DVD player software (e.g. the already mentioned VIDEOLAN); try to change the "video overlay" settings in the player software;

No, it doesn't, unless your DVD drive is locked at a region different than the one the inserted DVD is coded.
It might be also due to a new protection scheme- do you have this problem with all DVD's or particular ones?

Thx Guys, i install the dvd software and power dvd and now it works, thanks for everything..
The region is 2.
