Ritek DVD-R Problems with Recorder

Any idea why I am having problems with my recorder accepting the Ritek DVD-R disc's that you suggested? I have a Panasonic DMR-T3030 external recorder. I put in the blank disc then the DVD system while reading it shuts itself down and gives me an error message of U11: "Disc Canot be read or is scratched".
Any help would greatly be appreciated. I used to use TDK DVD-R but I was having customers complain about playback problems.

Hi videodoc.I also have a Panasonic dmr t3030.and although I have not tried that brand of blanks.I havnt had any trouble with sony, maxell,kypermedia,or verbatim and have made discs for several family members and friends.I HAVE had recent problems recording on a disc with 8x burn capabilities.hope that helps
