      Fuji = Taiyo Yuden???

      Can anyone confirm that the current Fuji CDR (blue packaging) 50 count spindels are Taiyo Yuden please?! I have heard that they are and the packaging says "Made in Japan." Wish I could give you more than that, but Fuji covers up the CDR's inside. They seem to have the TY screw top, but that is decieving now as other manufacturers have caught on and are faking this top now.

      Best Buy has these on sale this week for $8 USD with a rebate and I just want to be sure. Best Buy is a pain in the arse about returning them so I want to confirm in advance

      Thanks

      Apparently so, mate. Buy me a couple if I give you the cash to buy 'em - PLEASE ????PLEASE???? I'll even give you the shipping - it'll still cheaper than GB ! (Joking - I should think the weight would make the shipping horrendous !)

      Mind - I wasnt aware that others had started doing the screw top. I've never heard of any.

      He he, yeah the shipping would not make it worthwhile. A good deal for all those in the US anyhow. .08 cents a pop aint bad!

      In the US now, some of the CDR manufacturers aware that peeps look for TY media and that infamous screw top, are making a fake style screw top. It's not the same, but it is close. This happens mostly at Computer shows, which the retailer will claim is TY or Mitsui. When you get it home the media is Taiwanese.

      Confirmed, they are Taiyo Yudens. They stopped using the infamous screw top though.

      With tax they were more like 9.5 cents a peace (package is 2x 50 count spindles) . But that's not a bad deal for TY's! Best Buy has quite a few of them as well. So pick them up by Saturday 25th, as the sale ends then. Such a deal

      Strange thing is, I noticed a box of 10 Fuji's a couple of days ago and was curious and looked for place of manufacture, and "Made in Germany" was what was on the box ! Dont know who makes them in Germany as BASF have long since had theirs made in Taiwan.

      Intenso disks also claim that they are "made in Germany" but in fact they are Prodisk, made in Taiwan.

      Prodisk are good. Pretty much best of all taiwan stock. (Acer/Benq excellent too. CMC the WORST.)
