Unhappy Plextor 24x problem with cheapies

Its for some reason decided that it doesnt like the cheapies and just refuses to write on CMC blanks. It has until now written on them (except one) but I have tried 6 in a row out of the remaining spindle, and same result on each. Is there a way out of this or do I have to be very careful from now on or just bin this and get a Lite-on ? (It worked fine with my one remaining e-performance (Pro-disc)

That settles it. What about LG's Poko ? What are they like with the cheapies ? Any idea ?

There is a reason for the interest in LG's. My sister-in-law has just got one, and she is asking a zillion questions can it do this can it do that, and I dont have an answer !

      A friend has a 16x LG
I got some media for them from a computer fair...

      Unbranded (3m) Silver 48x
I forgot... 3m = Imation = CMC Magnetics - reckoned to be pretty poor in the CDRINFO forums - I guess 16x shouldn't strain them though!
