have you just had the chip installed ???
have you seen it working with dvdr copies???

to boot the copy just turn on ps2, goto browser,
wait for no data screen then put in a large toc original dvd game,
press and hold the eject button until the gold disc appears then
let go, the tray will eject and swap for your copy.

this should then boot the backup of your game.

      have you changed discs lately,
if not could be a dry joint on one of the solder points either on the chip or on the pcb where chip solders onto.

changed what discs? i wouldnt know where to start with dry joints.all i know is dvdz will not play backups or originals.any more hints to what it could be ?

changed discs i mean different manufacturer ie verbatim to non branded
as to dry joints you would need to get it checked out with whoever fitted the chip fo you

is there not a chip installer in your area maybe worth finding out
