      dvd burning problem

I have a couple of dvd movies to burn. I'm using a Pioneer 104 and the latest version of Nero.

I have already burned a couple of movies so I know i can do it. the problem is all of a sudden, if I try to burn a dvd rom or a dvd movie. I get the following message:-

      DVD-video files reallocation started
required file '%s' is not present
      DVD-files reallocation failed

Then the drive spits the disc out

I'm using win me with all the latest fixes and so on.

And yes I'm using the latest pioneer firmware which I'd resisted but I thought it might fix my problem.

      Anybody have any ideas???

      Thanx

      What you mean with that:
"if I try to burn a dvd rom or a dvd movie"
You can not burn a vcd or svcd on a dvdr-rw (not so simple)
also you can not burn with Nero a DVD movie you need an authoring software like: Sonic MyDVD, Dazzle DVD, Nero Vision
      or something like that!

hmm...this error message means that something is wrong with your project ... ---> let IfoEdit create new Ifo Files and then try to burn it again ...

@ Denexo --> u can burn DVD Movies with Nero
      --> e.g. DVD5
--> not every movie has to be transcoded and reauthored ! u should use Ifo edit more often !

I should use "Nero" more often !
I use Dazzle DVD Deluxe to burn my DVD movies, and Nero for (S)VCD

Dvd rom - As in various files (zips, avi's exe, etc) added then burned for storage.

DVD movie - DVD rip ( I didn't want to advertise the fact, you never know whose reading) with vob files (not svcd or vcd) that play fine in windvd - they just won't burn

      Thanks in advance

PS I didn't mean I was trying to burn the dvd movie as a dvd rom, I meant I can't burn anything to dvd without getting the above mentioned error

      @ RIDGEBACK

I get this messages only if something is wrong with the compilation u want to burn ...

maybe u should use PrimoDVD to burn your compilation ...
(is my second choice for burning to DVDR )

You can use nero to burn DVD movies(I have done it), you use DVD-ROM UDF/ISO option. But of course you cant just rip the move off and burn, as elpresidente says you need ifoedit to alter the info(or ifo). RIDGEBACK did the problems start after the firmware update? See link.

I'll be carefull with Nero for DVD (everything else is great)

The DVD's created by nero (from vob/ifo's) works great on my Yamakawa (=Sampo, etc) but fails to load on my Cyberhome.

I use Ifoedit's function to create an image and burn it with dvddecryptor which works on all playes sofar

      why so much work?
With DVD Decrypter i rip the vob, then i rename the vob file as mpeg! At the end i add the mpeg file to Dazzle DVD and i burn it.
It plays on my Cyberhome AD-L528 DVD Player and on the most players i know. (AIWA, PHILIPS,....)
The whole work is so easy as you add an mpeg to nero and burn a vcd !
