      RE dvd-dvd-r

      Thanks mate but already been to doom and scoured the forums in here , there are some problems similar to mine but no one goes into any great detail as to what programs you may need or explains what tutorials to look at. Ime about 150mb over the limit of the dvd size not to much to shave off , but enough if you dont know how to.........

      Doom9 has great tutorials under the DVD and mini DVD guide. I learned how to make any movie I can think of fit on a regular
      DVD-R. They look great, and you can't tell the difference.

      Try stripping out the other languages with IFO Edit (guide on Doom9) and if that still doesn't work, then try transcoding with CCE (also on doom9.)

      The problem with trying to copy an entire DVD is it contains more info than a DVD-R can hold, why? Because of dual layering. So U can rip only the film on most of DVD's. Older ones only hold up to 4.7gb. Shrek for example contains over 7gb!

      Thanks. but not all dvd`s are duel layered the one ime trying to copy is is over 7gb and is a single layer. Cheers anyway.

    12. Single Layer with 7GB of data is impossible. Don't misunderstood Dual Layer as Two Side Disc.

      --> SINGLE AND DUAL LAYER
      --> SINGLE LAYER = DVD 5 = DVDR = app. 4500MB
      --> DUAL LAYER = DVD 9

      ok--> back to the question -->
      "Ime about 150mb over the limit of the dvd size not to much to shave off ....."

      U can try to split the last Vobfile via VOBSPLITTER --> u can delete the credits , maybe they r long enough to free 150 mb --> sometimes it works ...give it a try cause transcoding + reauthoring takes a lot of time (only transcoding takes a lot of time *lol*)

      DVD discs come in 4 capacities,

      DVD 5 - 4.7 Gb, single side / single layer.
      DVD 9 - 8.5 GB, single side / dual layer.
      DVD 10 - 9.4 GB, double side / single layer.
      DVD 11 - 17.1 GB, double side / dual layer.

      hmm..that´s not 100% true cause there r some differences in calculating the available space
      e.g. DVD5 isn´t 4.7GB ! cause 4489MB aren´t 4,7GB
