      Remeg2 is so slooooooooow

While encoding a vob-file to a lower bit rate, Rempeg2 indicates how long the process will take.

But the strage thing is that the whole process becomes slower and slower. The estimated total time always rises and the amount of pictures encoded decreases gradually. Sometimes it takes up to a minute to encode a single picture!!!

My PC contains a 1.2 GHz processor and 256MB SDRAM. Is it possible that my system is to slow? But if that is the case then the encoding process should have been slow from the beginning.

      Has anybody a clue?

don´t use Rempeg mate ... it´s one of the greatest **** transcoding utils out there it´s really slow (ok it is 2 years old or older ) and the results r more than poor ...

use TMPG or CCE .... I can run at min a 2 pass in the same time Rempeg2 takes for 1 pass....and the quality is much better

I have heard that Rempeg2 is the only software that works with Ifoedit and that you have to reauthor the whole movie if you have transcoded it with a different software. Is this correct?

      Hi elpresidente,
will this method work well with DTS sound and sub-title and what will happen if the vob file is PAL, do you need to do Pulldown method as well .. Remeg2 is slow but work for me anytime ..Last time, i tried to transcode with TMPG as doom9's guide for almost 3 day and still having problems with audio syn ..
