Making backups of PS2 games

hi, im new to creating PS 2 backups and need help. i have a cendyne dvd-r burner (says pioneer 104 in all copy programs) P-4 1.5,120gb hard drive,I have tried
RecordNowMax,
CloneCD,
CDRWin,(This program sayes "Error: Unable to analize disc layout,Illegal track type encountered").
with a PS2 V4 no solder mod chip. Nothing will work except the original games.
Does any one have any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Did you use Game Shark2 or Action Replay2 to boot it? This is what I got from modchip.com! Check it out....good luck

Yes, I used the Game Shark2. I went by the instructions at Mod Chip . com, after I swap the disk it seems to hang at the screen where it says to switch the disk. I was thinking I wasn't burning them right????
I have been reading up about burning and it sounds like the copys should have a patch on them??
Does this sound like it might be the problem??

RecordNow Max or PrimoDVD for DVD based games
CloneCD for CD based games

You haven't stated that you had any read/write problems with the RecordNow Max / CloneCD, therefore I am assuming that the disc is alright and the media that you are using works fine on your console.

Your problems sounds like you are using the incorrect booting method for your no-solder mod
