      Big AVI

      Hi

I've try to capture programs through my conexant capture card, everything is fine but when I capture one minute the AVI file is oversized more than 500 megas.

what can I do to get a small file.

      Thanks
      Hebruf

Uncompressed AVI files can be extremely large. To reduce the size you will need to use some compression.

Huffyuv codec will give you a lossless compression of about 2.5 to 1
PicVideo codec can give to 5 to 20 to 1 compression
DivX 4.x can give you about 40 to 1 compression.

The one to use depends on what you want to do with the final AVI file and your HD space, etc.

I have a capture card based on the same chipset and can capture directly to VCD in real time using any othe the following 3 programs:

      CinePlayer DVR 2.51 ( from h**p://www.cinax.com/Products/*********** ).

      Ulead MediaStudio Pro ver 6 or 6.5 ( h**p://www.ulead.com/msp/runme.htm )

      MainActor from h**p://www.mainconcept.com

Ulead MediaStudio Pro ver 6 or 6.5 is probably the best to use and best quality, in my opinion.
