Smile AVI file audio out of sync

Hi,

I have an AVI file which i wish to play on my DVD / divx player. I have burnt the file directly to a CD-R but have found the audio and video to be out of sync. I have then processed the AVI file through the utility AVI-MUX_GUI to remove the delay from the audio stream. If i then burn this file to a CD-R and try to play it i only get about 8 seconds worth !! The file should be at least 1hr 30mins. I have also noticed that if i put the synced file through the film machine - Film Machine thinks that the synced file is only 8 seconds long !! I am guesssing that AVI-Mux has changed the characeristics of the file to misrepresent the overall length !?! Maybe !!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
