Question AVI File cropping / editing

My DVD player plays .avi files burned to a CD. I have a few files that are just a bit too large to fit on the CD. What program would be best for editing / cutting off the opening and closing credits on the .avi file ?

Thanks in advance .

VirtualDUBMod/VirtualDUB/Nandub are all capable of editing/cutting off sections of the avi to allow it to fit. Set Audio & Video to Direct stream copy, then use the slider at the bottom to mark out the bit you DONT want, hit the Delete key, then Save AVI giving it a new name.
