      Question divx2avi??

      After 10 or so copys using smartripper then vidomi to encode to a file big enought to fit on a cdr or 2 , I discover i should be encoding to an AVI instead of a Divx file as set default in vidomi,it plays ok but the problem is i want to swap with friends and we want to keep the same format ie: Avi Question is can i convert the ones i have burnt from a divx file to a Avi????       Yes you can convert a DivX to an uncompressed AVI. One problem, it will be about 10 times bigger. Thats 10 CDR's for every one you have now !!!!!

      If you used DivX Codec 4.x with Vidomi, then just get your friend(s) to install it on their PC, then all is well. Normal AVI is NOT the way to go.

      Cool same size?

      Thanks for the fast reply but is it posible to convert to an AVI of the same size 700MB Divx to 700 MB AVI without losing quality!! if so, how? What progam should i use? thanks Dave.

      A DivX file is an AVI file. You will see the files extension is AVI. The DivX refers to how the data is compressed within the AVI using DivX codec. It aslo allows compressed audio to MP3 standards.

      What you have created is an AVI using the DivX codec to compress it, thats all.
