      Help Me

Followed tutorial on svcd. Got all progs. but i have a problem when i use DVD2AVI. I load it up as per tut. but after screen resizes it shuts down on error. Re-ripped a few times to be sure, same outcome. Any ideas. Am using XP if that matters. Thanx.

You did rip the DVD with Smartripper or another program?

What version of DVD2AVI are you using, I have never had a problem with 1.76, ever!

In your DVD2AVI folder do you have the DVD2AVI.VFP file, if not download it as well.

I used smartripper to rip. Version 1.82 of dvd2avi and had the vfp installed. Tried again same result. Should i use 1.76 instead. I never get to see a preview of movie before dvd2avi shuts down. Thanx.

Yep, use 1.76 absolutely. 1.82 was a re-hash by someone else than the original DVD2AVI author. Many people have probs with 1.82

sorry to be a bother. Installed 1.76 but same result. as soon as i press f-five the info window pops up and 10 seconds later it shuts down.Don' know? is ther any other settings i'm missing.I tried using dvd2svd software bundle and everything worked ok till i tried to use fireburner and starts recording for about 10 sec. and then says recording complete. Used fireburner many times no prob. I'd like to get your system working if i can. Is it the best for quality as i don't care about encoding time. Thanx much.

Hmmmm... sounding more like a system problem/clash DVD2AVI works, its normally a very stable product. What happens if you dont hit the F5 key and just Save Project ?

DVD2SVCD will give the best avialable quality of the ripped DVD by far, its worth trying if time and number of CD's it produces is not a problem.
