      Ripping Audio

I am trying to copy the audio from a DVD to burn to a CD-R.
I have ripped the VOB files using Smartripper 2.34, and am using DVD2AVI to convert the AC3 audio to a wave file.

The video preview in DVD2AVI is complete, but the wave file generated is not complete, it is only about half the length it should be.

      Can anyone help.

      Thanks

There are a few ways of doing what you want , and there is nothing wrong with what your doing.

Suggest you get hold of SmartRipper 2.41 to start with ( h**p://www.anti-mpaa.c4.to/ ) and then check the files on the DVD, as the movie your trying to rip the audio from may be in 2 groups. ie. like:

      VTS_01_0 BUP 18,432
      VTS_01_0 IFO 18,432
      VTS_01_0 VOB 43,008
      VTS_01_1 VOB 1,073,565,696
      VTS_01_2 VOB 1,073,565,696
      VTS_01_3 VOB 589,365,248
      VTS_02_0 BUP 18,432
      VTS_02_0 IFO 18,432
      VTS_02_0 VOB 43,008
      VTS_02_1 VOB 1,073,565,696
      VTS_02_2 VOB 1,073,565,696
      VTS_02_3 VOB 335,265,227

And when you hit, Start, it will only rip waht it thinks is the movie, normally the larger of the 2 groups.

If in doubt rip the whole DVD to HD then play each VOB with WinDVD to check what it contains.

Chicken Man, Thanks for the help

I used the later version of the program, as you suggested and everything worked ok.

      Thanks again
