      Unhappy VideoCD from divx

      Hello.

I've read that it is possible with Nero 5.5 to make a Video CD directly from a divx file. The process is as simple as drag and drop the divx movie to the VideoCD compilation. The problem is that Nero says that there is "Insufficient Memory" (I've 512 Mb. RAM and 30 Gb. free HD.). That message appears with every movie, even if its only a few seconds long.

      Any ideas?

      Thank you.

Best of luck using Nero as an AVI to VCD converter. It may be simple as drag and drop, but you pay the price in quality.

Nero is flakie at the best of times, so dont expect smooth sailing.

I assume you have installed the DivX Codec and the AVI is playable with Windows Media Player ?

I would suggest you have a read of the AVI to VCD Tutorial (in the Tutorial section) using TMPGEnc. It almost as simple Nero to use and quality is tops.

      Cheers.
