Is it safe to chip a v9 or v10 PS2?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if it is safe to chip a v9 or v10 NTSC PS2 with either a DMS3 or a M2 Pro v1.33b? I have read the there have been significant laser problems with the PAL units but I haven't read too much about the NTSC units. I have asked this question several times and have never gotten a clear answer.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it says on their homapages that the chip is compatible with your model, then yes it is.

I have only heard about a couple of "incidents" with the v9 and Messiah2, the last I heard the Messiah guys brought out a revised chip (v1.33b or something like that) to resolve the problems.
