Cool IZArc 3.5 beta 2

For those that use this program, there is a new beta version out.

-Added CD/DVD Images support (Open and extract) - (ISO, BIN, MDF, NRG, IMG, C2D, PDI, CDI)
-Added CD Image Converter tool (Bin -> ISO, MDF -> ISO, NRG -> ISO, PDI - > ISO)
-Added support for AVG Antivirus scanner version 7 (In IZArc configuration dialog, under "Program Locations"->"Virus Scanner" select avgw.exe from your AVG installation folder. Also put "/se" (without quotes) as parameter)
-Improved "Search in Archives" dialog
-Improved "CheckOut" dialog
-New/Updated translations

Yep......the list of supported formats is way bigger than WinRar's,you can extract more than 40 different compressions....And you can use 8 different compression formats to create archives...
Only minus is that you can't create rar or ace because those are licensed by their developers....but you can extract them...

Izarc is one of them that supports 7Z format, the exciting, open-source "solid" archive that's a serious contender to RAR - and by far the best freely implementable compression, though probably also the slowest, especially on the more agressive settings.

http://www.florida.plus.com/izarc/ UK Mirror site for IZARC, though less info there

Another 7Z capable archiver, Tugzip
http://www.tugzip.com/
(note, opening CD-image formats seems to be a popular addition as well)

But for 7-zip / 7Z itself
http://www.7-zip.org
- the 7-zip 4.xx beta introduces SPLITTING for 7Z format, but it's unlikely this feature has made it into Izarc or Tugzip yet... this makes it a SERIOUS contender for RAR's throne (the sooner the better) - it would be great to see the proprietary format taken down a peg or two!

A good, fullfeatured program, and a genuine freebie- but unfortunately Ivan (Zahariev, the program developer) has not implemented the full set of features of the new 7-zip format yet (e.g. encryption and spanning), which is a big minus.
The original 7-zip is absolutely spartan, but very good overall, and Tugzip is bughouse deluxe unlimited...
