Rocket Division Software Grab&Burn

Grab&Burn is a lightweight application that allows prospective user to create own data, audio and video CD/DVD compilations. Also it allows to backup and duplicate CD/DVD media, extract data and audio tracks to individual files on your hard disk, split DVD-Video movies (convert DVD9 movie to set of the two DVD-R(+R) movie titles) , record existing ISO9660/Joliet and UDF images to CD/DVD media.

Key Grab&Burn features:

  • All MMC compatible CD/DVD recorders (CD-R/W, DVD-R/W, DVD+R/W and DVD-RAM) are supported
  • UDF file system mastering (UDF 1.02, 1.50 and 2.01)
  • ISO9660 file system mastering (including Joliet UNICODE extensions)
  • Session import (appending already created CDs/DVDs)
  • Bridge file system (ISO9660/UDF for DVD-Video creation) mastering
  • DVD-Video main sequence (movie itself) extraction
  • Audio content processing
  • Track-At-Once and Disc-At-Once (RAW) recording modes
  • DVD-Video authoring code (make own movie from the set of the VOB files)
  • Track-At-Once and Disc-At-Once (RAW) recording modes
  • El Torito (bootable CD/DVD)
  • DVD9 → 2 DVD-R(+R) conversion
This brief review describes the functionality of the application and gives a quick overview of its main features and GUI. Since application is wizard based the main part of the overview is Grab&Burn wizards screenshots and descriptions.

Impressions and conclusions

Grab&Burn is a lightweight application that is full of features. Almost any function that you can imagine doing with your DVD is implemented in Grab&Burn. It is also worth mentioning that Grab&Burn is free. It comes with adware license and full registration costs as low as $19 (this gets all the ads removed completely).

Thank CDR-info for the review

In Rocket's own foprum, it appears that it is NOT adware, other than some promotion of their own products, but does have some restrictions.

And this says "free of charge"

And in the order/download, it's stated as Adware - trouble is, "Adware" covers a multitude of things, from objectionable junk like Gator/Claria and worse, down to restrained promotional banners with nothing installed outside the program and no unwanted communication.
