Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install RealPlayer or RealOne Player from Real Networks. Supported are: RealAudio (.ra .rpm), RealMedia (.rm .ram .rmvb .rpx .smi .smil), RealText (.rt) and ReadPix (.rp). It also supports RealMedia content that is embedded in webpages. The very user-friendly installation is fully customizable, which means that you can install only those components that you want.
It is highly recommended to uninstall all existing Real related software, like RealPlayer or RealOne Player, before installing. This way your system stays clean and potential problems will be avoided.
Feature descriptions:
- Media Player Classic 6.4.8.2 is a full featured player which has internal decoding support for RealMedia content.
- RealMedia codecs 6.0.12.1053 are required for playing RealMedia movies and audio. RealMedia .smi and .smil files are not fully supported, only the first part of a clip will be played. This is a limitation of the current Media Player Classic.
- RealMedia DirectShow splitter 1.0.0.9 allows you to play RealMedia content in all DirectShow enabled players. Without this splitter RealMedia content can only be played in Media Player Classic.
- RealMedia Bandwidth Settings tool is required for configuring the bandwidth used for streaming RealMedia content.
- RealMedia Browser plugin 6.0.12.1053 allows you to view RealMedia content that is embedded in a webpage. The RealMedia Browser plugin supports Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape and Opera.
