Thumbs up Recommended: = Zidrav GNU (file crc corruption detection and repair program)

      http://sourceforge.net/projects/zidrav

      Info :

Makes it possible to repair damaged files with crc errors. But to be able to repair a damaged file u need someone with the original file with the correct crc checksum

      Proccess:

      1. If you have a file that has a crc checksum error - use zidrav to create a checksum file for it.

      2. Someone who has the original file (without crc checksum errors) can use zidrav to create a patch

      3. You apply the patch on your file that has errors, save u having to download the file again.

Pretty Neat Program. Good for screwed up files u get from P2P networks

well u cant recreate missing or incomplete files like u can RAR and PAR files

and its not limited to use with certain archive files - like the PAR files - u can fix (in theory) just about any file type - as long as someone can provide u with the correct checksum data from the original file created using Zidrav

from that u just get the checksum data from the (fully downloaded) corrupt file and use the checksum data to make a patch to fix your corrupt file.

So far i've used it to fix avi and mp3 files and it works great.
