What I find a huge drawback to XP is all the security administrator stuff. If someone is the only user of his PC and doesn't need it, how does he escape it? I thought that the home version would set me from all that red tape, but it was only a little less a hassle. It is a nuisance to have to get a nag about it effecting other users every time you make a change on the Start Menu, to mention just one. There's configurations to lessen the squeeze, but seems that you can not disable it entirely.![]()
I don't like the actual install of XP myself, apart from taking the best part of an hour you cannot decide what parts of XP you want to install or dont. There should be some sort of Win XP Lite where you can install a real minimum O/S.
The producers from xp lite are http://www.litepc.com/xplite.html
but it's in beta stage yet. I would like to find the beta files to try them my self...
