      After woody posted some nice info and helpfull tips about Windows XP, I have another one !
      Download the attached file, run it:
      Trace -> Optimize System

      Let do the run, restart and so on ..
      the programm will guide you trough it !

      After that your system should boot up MUCH faster

      You can install it and run it.. but I suggest that you unplug your modem untill you have cracked it..
      unless it is one of the pre cracked versions

      Great proggy this bootvis...

      What does it exactly do?

      from what I understand it traces what your system does as it starts up and customises the computer to make it run faster, byremoving unneeded services, etc...

      Not only did it NOT work well for me, it buggered up XP to the point it reset itself and I had to go back to last known good config.

      Has anyone tried to burn xp to an image file and remove the activation part yet or is this impossible ? I just thought it may be worth a thought

      Well I did, but I suppose it was a bit of a chet as the XP I did it with was a downloaded "DevilsOwn" version which the activation was already deactivated. Works anyway !
      Also tried the fix above again, this time it worked, but XP is STILL slower starting up than ME was. But a LOT more stable.

      Yeah you can add the corp files to the cd and it removes activation by making it the corporate version.

      It should work.. i haven't tried yet cause I gotta get some more cds.
