PrevX vs SSM (System Sandbox)

SSM: http://maxcomputing.narod.ru/ssme.html?lang=en
PrevX: http://www1.prevx.com/prevxhome.asp

I don't know if anyone has ever used any of this utilities. I just think that a sandbox is a piece os security software, just as important as anti-virus.

I was wondering, for those who have tried (or are going to try), which do u think is more effective as a sandbox. SSM seems to allow a greater degree of control and is more configurable than PrevX. And as such, my vote goes to PrevX [Edited: I meant to say SSM]

I would just like to know your opinions regarding this software.

Regards,

Incognitu

I have not used SSM since i changed to XP, but it seemed ok & did what it said it did

I have been running PrevX Home since it came out as a beta, if U have a reasonably fast machine it is another good layer in Ur defense, although on my old box i find it can lag a bit just before poppin up a alert.

As far as i can rem SSM is mainly for system security & asks U when U run a app if it is ok, where as PrevX is less configurable, but protects more area's on Ur system (ie registry, file system, system folders etc, thankfully it includes a trusted install option that can stop U being bombarded with alerts

Like U say SSM is more a sandbox app while PrevX is more a whole system protection type app.

I'd wait for more opinions

Good luck on getting to SSM's site - I wonder if my ISP is having a bad day/week/month/year, as that site's been a non-responder for quite some time for me.

Access to SSM page here is slow, around 3KB/s...

But I can acess it. It's kind nostalgic, reminds me os the days of 14.4 modems and BBS...
