the same here (second pc)Here the update works fine, and shows v.4.70
I tryed all ways and here is.New aspicheck shows that aspi is fully functional.2files 470,2 files 460.As you said,i checked that file, and is said there that windows2000 should be like that. What is confusing me is;with old aspicheck,is red color,it is shoving 2 files as 470 and 2 files like 460,and is written that aspi ---some components have been replaced with older version.Proggy should "know"to respond new wersion..........I guess will check how it works??or somebody have better idea????????
I've installed the new ASPI layer onto my computer (running Windows XP Professional). I have experienced no problems but was wondering why two files still showed to be the old version. By what I'm reading here, I guess it is normal.
Mike
These two files are supposed to be missing? When I run the new ASPI Check, it says that these components are not installed and that ASPI is not installed correctly. Is this the way that it is supposed to be?
Ok, so here's my situation: (Running Windows XP)
I ran KillASPI for the old 4.60 ASPI layer. All of the files were deleted and I restarted my computer.
Then I ran the program (using the command
c:\adaptec\aspi\install.bat XP32). A DOS box appears and then disappears quickly. I restart my computer and it shows that
ASPI32.SYS and WNASPI32.DLL are both version 4.7
However,
WOWPOST.EXE and WINASPI.DLL come up as not installed.
(I'm using the ASPICHK that is included in the 4.7 installation.)
What do I do to correct this?
Mike
Also, I have a Pentium Celeron Processor. Is running the XP32 command ok with this one as well?
Adaptec has ****ed us again, or at least to XP users. In my case my aplications has had just problems since I installed 4.70, and it was perfectly installed, showing all ok under the new aspicheck.
I had to uninstall it with killaspi and install it with ForceASPi again, or also woth the other XP aspi that is in the site.
I don't recomend this aspi layer, maybe it works ok for others.
