I'm an avid emule user and I would say it is just good for the same things edonkey was (files on the sharereactor site).
It works better than overnet & it is open source (which is great).
Has a pretty good following now & there are some great mods of it.
Umod/pro emule, Herbert, Delta, etc...

the donkey network is working fine, but if you got a linux pc at your hands grab mldonkey! in my opinion it's the best donkeyclient you can get
i sometimes reach my connection maximum (90KB/s) with only one file
