      RAR file win CRC error

Is there a tool to repair a rar file with CRC errors?.

      Thanks

yep, the new winrar does it. If not, there's no other solution than download the rar file again

      try this...

      AntiCRCError

This is freeware (although password protected)...so no worries everyone!

However...it's best not to leach this one as this guy has worked hard on this proggie...credit where credit is due

      Get it here instead:

      Password is also listed there!

      Thanks ...dxkim

      What’s The Password ?

      merryl158,

Ok merryl158 what does the file AntiCRCerror.exe+ file supposed to do? Also the anticrcerror_124.zip file is password protected. What’s the point of posting this password protected archived file and not providing the password.

      Regards,
      Coaster

Just a wee little warning! This proggie seems to have a little spyware .

It tries to connect to the following:

      -----------------------------------------------
      65.217.174.124, port 80 - TCP

      and

      localhost 127.0.0.1, port 1998 - UDP
      -----------------------------------------------

It seems to be adware (there is a box for it). Nevertheless...keep those personal firewalls up!

another point to note is only use winrar to decrypt rar files as progs like winace seem to have probelms as the makers or winrar keep chaning their crc algorithm!

Use the latest stable version of WinRAR to decrypt. Using older verions\ other tools like WinAce results in false CRC errors. I have learnt it the hard way
