people come to forums looking for information.
But many people are a bit shy of replying or as u put it posting on the forums
this is mainly because they feel a little bit shall i say awkward not wanting to seem dumb about many topics on the forum.
but wouldnt you say that this what forums were made for for people who know a litlle but would like to know a lot more but then again when reading some of the forums topics or answers they feel alittle daunted at the prospect of asking or replying .
members not posting should be encouraged to do so no matter what the question is,whether it be silly, easy or downright stupid
and not have the p****d taken out of them

i agree with you mayfair. I think a lot of us here should ease up abit when some of the newer members make mistakes in posting, or forget to search (or may be too lazy to do it hahaha); some of the members here can get quite nasty, offensive , and right down condescending just because they have more years of technical experience;i.e. certain members i can expect the word "crap" coming out of his every single thread; may be they think that's all they have to offer so might as well work it up, but i think that's sad.

Anyway, we were priding ourselves to be one of the nicer and civilized forums on the net, and we should actually walk the talk; empty words don't mean much. It really doesnt take much effort to be nice

This is totaly true bro, most of us here try and encourage new people to post, even if it is to say thank you for some info/serial they have recieved, no-one should ever be berated for posting a wrong answer, there are no "stupid" questions as everyone is at a different level as regards computing and everyone had to start somewhere.
At the end of the day the thirst for knowledge is a great thing, even if the question is " how do i turn my computer off?" someone will answer you and then your problem is solved, so no question is to dumb.
As regards "no posters" well a little thank you goes a long way even if you found a thread interesting you could say " i found this interesting, thank you" no biggie and it shows you really are an active member

    8. This is all good to hear especially for the noobs.
One thing that gets up my nose is when someone asks a question then some person(s) get angry or upset and get rather agro, what hope have noobs got, or other people wanting to ask questions, they see this and say well i wont ask anything here, get my head bitten off for asking.
When maybe a answer or link might be more useful with the comment on useing search for more information???.
Why do people who get agro about common questions go out of there way to even reply if they dont like it, the time it takes to be sarcastic they could most likely of helped the person anyway, or if the person doesnt get an answer they just might use the search to see if it was asked before ???
commonly asked questions as stickies are great too wish to see them more
      more 2c worth anyway
