I tried out XNews after it had been so highly praised on here. But when I filled in the bits and bobs, when it started downloading the groups it deposited half a dozen bloody folders on my desktop ! I duly gathered them up and put them in another folder then when I started it again, I had to fill in all the crap again to get another half dozen folders on the desktop. Surely it should be putting these in its own flaming directory instead of the sodding desktop ?????![]()

Definitely a configuration problem. Mine doesn't do that. Take a closer look at your settings.
I agree with MythSpell Iyou must have configured it wrong as that didnt happen to me either.Go into special/set up news and configure it there.

I, too, agree. For Binaries XNews is the best I have used with a VERY fast, almost no setup time.
With Agent, I would get a pause in d/l and Agent would loose its mind! With XNews, it resumes a multipart d/l!

Hehe
XNews create its necessary folders and config files when first started. If you delete them, it'll create them again, and again![]()
Just decompress it in its own folder, not on your desktop.
genthall - you are absolutely right ! Cheers, mate !![]()
