New Version of Windows Media Player 9

I notice on Microsofts Media Download Centre that they have released an updated version of their Beta Windows Media Player 9


Has anyone yet installed or tried it to see what is new or whether it is any better than what has come before ?

No, and I refuse to download Mikersoft beta crap. My 13 year old daughter downloaded Windoze Media Player 9 beta and I have some crap on my desktop and WMP9 won't even run properly The final version is due out either late September or October After that incident, I changed her account to "logical"(WindozeXP) I prefer Zoom Player, one of the best, if not the best media player at present

i can't play mp3 after i installed the latest version of wmp 9 and i'm not sure if it was related to directx v8.2?

Why would you use wmp9 for mp3, it can't run itself properly

Use Winamp 2.81 not 3.0 and you'll see what's better

i used to play mp3 with WMP build 9203 and face no problem. i wonder if it's related the direct x.

have tired RC9 of Media Player. Does'nt give u a custom install option,just installs everything inc Roxio CD Burnin Plugin.After reboot machine blue screened constantly.Think it was conficting with nero or inCD.Nice 2 see Microsoft has learnt its lesson after the debacle that was MP7.Seem to remember that had issues with the cd burning plugin.Know its a Release Candidate but it should give u custom install.No wonder MS is loosing respect all over the place.
