Outlook express

Everytime I open Outlook express I get loads of junk mail, but whats annoying about it I get two of every email.

Can anyone tell me how to only get one copy of my emails and also how do you prevent all this crap I keep getting.

yeah, there r plenty of apps to help prevent spam; just do a search with spam as the keyword and yoou will find some; about the 2 emails per each message; i dont think it's an ms outlook express thing ; it's the way you set it up that caused the dupes

About unwanted mail, you should use filters. Outlook express and many mail clients has this options. Look at the toolbar: tools/mail rules/mail. There you can build diferent rules, to auto move mails to diferent folders, to delete messages from server without being downloaded, to delete messages afeter being downloaded, and more. But if you prefer exist a lot of antispam software that works filtering your mail, some of them has builtin filter rules to filter knowed spam but you have to add your own rules.
About the duplicate messages may be really a configuration problem, but it also may be caused from the mail server they are sending to you the messages.

outlook express first download all mails before deleting them from the server. so if your connection suddenly breaks while downloading mail 99 of 100, you'll be downloading ALL the emails again and have duplicate copies of mails 1-99.
