      XP Services

This guy has a pretty good outline for disabling unneccesary servics in XP.

In fact the whole site looked interesting

roban, that is a cracking site m8!

Loads of XP info there that I would never have thought of.

Even the first line was profound..."Do not use msconfig to disable services. Type in the Run box "services.msc" instead! "

Me thinks I will use this site a lot.

      Once again Tnx m8.

great site. btw, if you are using a router to access the internet, disable the dchp and dns services in windows xp, otherwise domains won't be resoved properly from time to time, resulting in errors. these services are not needed anyway, since the router resolves all domain names to ips. took me some time to find out; before I switched these services off, I could never surf properly, something is definitely wrong with these winxp services; I am just glad that I have a router which does everything for me
Please don't send me PMs, I only check them once in a month. If you have to say something, say it here

You only need to disable DHCP if you have your router configured to route a Static IP to each Individual computer. Same Concept goes with DNS Resolving, if you have it disabled in the Routers Config then keep the XP service running.
