Hi bud.Tough question,both are excellent writers!The only advantage with the Plex is the ability to write Safedisc 2 titles.The Plex can write true 1:1 copies of Sd2,while the Yamaha needs a trick(AWS)or patching to write SD2.The Plex also seems able to defeat audio protections(not sure on the Yammi)You can't go wrong with either.

Plex wins hands down. Though I myself would buy the x24 Liteon and save a few bucks

Agree with hesitate Lite on rocks.A 32x writer from lite on comes out soon too.

I currently have a Iomega ZipCD 4x4x24 (Dead) and Samsung CD-R/RW SW-216B but i don't like the Samsung one.

that's why i'm going to return the drive and get a new one

Plextor or Yamaha?????

Yeah i never make copy of games, protected CD's or anything like that so i don't give a F! either, i only use my drive for Audio CD's and Personal data backup. so it seems the yamaha would be the best choice for me.
