      hi

i want to buy a new CD Writer and i think the Plextor is the best.

but wich model should i choose i don't car about the price.

      should i take the 24x or the 40x ???

i need it copy all the protection also the new SD2 and the copy can work in any drive.

if there is a writer better than Plextor please let me know ??

      thank you........

well cobra88 you should have a look at our search function.
Currently Lite-On does the SD2.51 quite well but problems with cactus data (music) types of protection.
Plextor also has a little issue with them at times. No sure way for many things, just trial & error.
However if you were to go with Plextor, I would suggest maybe waiting for the newer ones to come out (they have 2 new models coming out in next 2weeks I think).
The latest SD protection is version 2.6x. Am not sure if any writer is good with those yet (as it just came out & not enough testing has been done). I do think that Lite-On will give you a better bang for you buck though.
The 40X Lite-On is still cheaper than the Plextor 16x lol.
If I were you, get the Lite-On & wait for any new Plextors to come out or better still, get a good CD/DVD-ROM reader that can read cactus types of protection better (ex: toshiba).
      Good luck

      PS
there will be plenty of replies, so just wait a couple of days & make your choice.
