      Is NEC 7900A any good?

      Hello ALL:

I have a Liteon 24102B that is working great. I just got another system and was expecting another LiteOn. BUT, they put in a 24x10x40 NEC model NR-7900A.

I was just wondering if this is really not as good as the Litey for most things?

I just never thought I would get the NEC, although they say it has some kind of BurnProof treatment...I guess they do not call it BurnProof, however. CCD likes the LiteOn better as the site says something about accurate stream!

      TIA

The NEC site calls it JustLink Burnproof Technology. I was thinking it could be LiteOn but Clone CD site info about the drives does show that one difference between the NEC and LiteOn. I also think the "correct EFM Encoding" box is different.

Nero site makes it look like it will not overburn.

I have an older Ricoh and have not had trouble with it at all. I only am concerned as CCD and NERo do not list it as having as many features as the LiteOn. Well, I can wait for the system to show up and see what it has!
