      Hercules Game Theater XP

Does any1 in here have this sound card? If so, how is it? How does it performs under Windows XP? Please give me your opinions on it.

Ps. Please Comment if you know about it, even if you don't own one.

don't own one, but hear very good things about it at an amd board. Solid & very good quality sound. They update drivers for it for all OS systems well, so no troubles running it in winXP.
Personally, I think it looks as good or better than the SBLive platinum series. The audigy will be slightly better, but for the money I think the Hercules is a good choice. Also perhaps have a look at the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz line.
Currently running SBLive 5.1 Digital Entertainment without troubles in winXP either, but took creative a while to give any support for it (not looking good for them).

yeah I have a Soundlbaster Live! (not value) and it's working fine with xp though. It took me a while to get the drivers to work correctly under WindowsXP. I don't want to use another creative product. So i decided to use buy a different soundcard. I was looking at the santa cruz, but since Hercules have that external bracket and is based on the same chipset, so i chose it.

    4. Actually, I just bought the Klipsch Promedia 5.1's with the Creative SB Audigy Xgamer SoundCard and it took me a bit to dial it in but it's a pretty good card. However, my music sounds better running through 4 speakers opposed to Surround 5.1, which is the cards only downfall . Then I heard about the GTXP Hercules on the klipsch forum and I've basically heard that if you go to the hercules website and download the xp drivers, your all set. I've heard that this is the best sound card out there. And I ordered one last week. From what I've heard, this thing plays mp3's,games,DVD's etc... in surround 5.1 with no problems.

The bottom line is that the Santa Cruz is a good card but if you have the extra cash, get the GTXP.

My Creative Xgamer Audigy is a nice card, but in order to get great quality surround 5.1, I have to play my mp3's using Power DVD 4.0 .

I have the Hercules Game Theater XP and find it very good.

I have not had any problems with it at all on a full multi-media system which I use to watch DVDs and VCDs on.

      Good for the price.
