liteon 523275 dvd decoder
Hi, not very good at this yet!! Have got a cd\dvdrom drive Liteon 523275,why can i not watch dvds on it ?? i have got the installation disk...but can't find out how to do this. Do i have to buy a new part??....or wot?? or is the information where?? Please help!! i have windows xp !!

Sorry to tell you,but with that drive,you will never be able to read dvds.......it's a plain cdwriter,you can only read and write cd-r/rw with this piece of hardware.....

I'm guessing it's 52327S, not 523275, as that doesn't tie up with Liteon's numbering...
A 52x Write, 32x ReWrite, 52x Read drive, but not a combo with DVD! If it was sold to you as a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive, complain, and if you paid a combo drive price, complain bitterly! PS. It's hard to recommend a combo drive these days (if it was ever easy). They aren't much cheaper than a better pair of seperates, and in fact, they aren't much cheaper than the bottom end of the DVD WRITER market.
